The Lock That Would Not Open

The other day my son Daniel came to me with a funny problem while he was cleaning up his room.  He came across a lock but realized he forgot the combination.   How would he ever open it?  He tried whatever  numbers he could think of.  I then gave him a few of my own.  (No we don’t play the Lotto).  Anyway, nothing we came up with made the lock open up.  It was no use.  We didn’t have the key.  I saw a connection between this “funny problem” and our own lives.

You see, we go through life with so many problems.  It’s like that lock.  So many things keep us chained up inside.  We try to be free on our own.  We go to others to help us.  We call up our friends and family using all the phone numbers we can think of.  But all to no avail.  No one can help us but Jesus.  We don’t know the answer.  But Jesus is the Answer.  Only Jesus knows how to free us.  He holds the key to our destiny.

Give your problems over to Jesus.  Let Him give you the freedom you have been searching for.  Jesus alone can rescue you.

Scriptures to Meditate on:

Revelation 1:18 says, “I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever!  And I hold the keys of death and Hades.”

John 8:32 says, “then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

John 8:36 says, “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”
The Devil would love to keep you in bondage.  The Devil is a liar.  He wants to keep you from knowing the truth.

Jesus warned us in John 10:10, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” Be free in Jesus’ Name from everything that has been keeping you locked up inside.
