
Sharon Samuel-Varghese is the Senior Pastor of The First Door of Faith Church in Flushing, New York. Born in Sedalia, Missouri and raised in Queens, New York, Sharon grew up in a pastor’s home. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.A. from Queens College in Elementary Education and Sociology and received her M.A. in Curriculum and Teaching from Teacher’s College, Columbia University, New York. Sharon led the youth and worship ministries at her church and went on to write her first book called Youth Ministry In the Small Urban Church. She served as a public school teacher and then later on God called her into full-time ministry. Sharon leads worship at church and has written songs which have been sung by the congregation during services. She has also sung at conventions in America and India and has been a guest speaker for a variety of churches. Sharon is blessed with two sons, Daniel and Michael who are actively involved in campus ministries and serve on the preaching team of their church. Her joy is to spread the gospel, to glorify her Savior, and to watch her sons do the same.
In her free time, Sharon enjoys photography, gardening, watching sunrises, reading, walking in the fresh outdoors, baking, creating art, playing badminton, eating bulgogi, and making memories with her sons.
