Have you ever had a really awful earache? I remember having one when I was much younger. It was so painful. Even if you try to rest, all you can think about is the pain. It’s amazing how something so small can hurt so much. So when my ear started hurting even a little bit recently, I was very concerned. So I prayed. Then I had my sons pray for me. By the next morning, I noticed that the pain in my ear was so much less. What a relief! Thank you Jesus! God answers prayer. We truly can pray for anything! I thought to myself, “We must have another quiet time.” My sons and I met together earlier that day to pray together, but this quiet time would be different. It turned out to be an early evening thank you to Jesus, my Merciful Healer. We would only thank the Lord and not ask for anything. No petitions. No requests. Only, “thank you” to the One who brought healing. I was a woman on a mission. All I wanted to do was say, “Thank You Dear Jesus for healing my ear.”
It’s good to take a break from the busyness of life and call for a praise meeting in the home. Gather the family around. Just take turns thanking the Lord: from the youngest to the eldest. The Lord God Almighty does so many wondrous miracles in our lives, big and small. Let’s take time to acknowledge them and praise the Lord. He does all things well.
Psalm 92:1-2 says, “It is good to praise the Lord and make music to your name, O Most High, to proclaim your love in the morning and your faithfulness at night.”
Scripture Reading:
Luke 17:12-19
In your Journal:
What do you need to thank the Lord about?
Who else needs to hear what the Lord has done for you?
What stories of answered prayer have encouraged your faith recently?
Amen! Thanks!
