“Arise From Depression”

Good Morning Early Risers!
Watch the sermon from Sunday. Meditate on Psalm 42. This psalm is part of a collection of writings from the Sons of Korah. Read about Korah and his awful rebellion in Numbers 16. Take to heart the following points and truly ARISE from Depression. A.R.I.S.E. Is an acronym I shared to help bring out the points in the sermon.

A-ARISE!
Don’t sleep all day. Get up out of your bed. Read John 5:1-8. The command for this man’s healing was clear. “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.” I believe God is telling many of you to “Get up. You’ve slept long enough.”

R-REMEMBER the Blessings of God and the works of God. (Psalm 42:4-6)
A gentle walk through nature can make it easy to reflect on the miracles and testimonies of your life.

I-Invest time with the Lord and in the Word (Prayer and Bible Reading)
Don’t just rise up and reach for your phone in the morning. Reach out to the Lord first. Psalm 42:4, “Pour out” your soul.
Psalm 68:19
1 Peter 5:7
Psalm 42:8

I’m getting so excited to hear about more people who are reading their Bibles, are done or almost done. Way to go. Keep on reading!!!!

S-SERVE!
Read the book of Ruth and follow the sorrow of Naomi. Marvel at the fact that she did not live in her despair. Her attention was on Ruth’s future. Don’t be surprised that when you serve to bless others, how God will take care of your own personal needs. Naomi would be blessed with a bright future. Her own grandson would be in the line of David and in the genealogy of Jesus Christ.

E-EAT, EXERCISE and ENGAGE with others!
Read 1 Kings 19. Twice an angel says to Elijah, “Get up and eat.”
Psalm 42:3. Please don’t live on your tears. Eat right. You have great exploits to do for the Kingdom.

Focus on movement too. I’m trusting the Lord daily for healing in my own movement. Do your best to keep it moving. In him we live and move and have our being! Hallelujah!!!

Read Galatians 6:2.
At some point everyone needs to open up about what’s bothering them. So, what’s bothering you? Stop bottling it all up. It will just make you explode and translate into high blood pressure and a whole lot of other problems.

Friend, ARISE from Depression. You are not created to stay stuck. Arise. Consider this blog as a spiritual uplift to get you up and moving. “Holy Spirit, touch every reader by Your amazing power.”

Awaiting Testimonies,
Pastor Sharon
